ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Draw With Patterns is a series of beginner friendly creative workshops where you’ll learn how to draw on an iPad and turn your ideas into beautiful repeating patterns using the app Procreate. A seamless pattern is a design that repeats continuously in every direction without visible edges, they are everywhere and you’ll have seen them on clothing and fabric, wallpaper, packaging, stationery, homeware and digital products! As part of the October series, I bring to you a Cute Bat Pattern to explore working with a character on a basic but surprisingly lovely layout. With some clever tricks and guidance you’ll learn how to make the most of in built Procreate tools add extra charm to simple designs. You don’t need to be an artist or have any previous digital drawing experience. Whether you’re completely new to drawing on an iPad or already have an iPad you’d like to get more creative with, the workshops are designed to help you have a go, build confidence and enjoy the process. What can you expect? To get comfortable using an iPad and Apple Pencil for drawing - Explore beginner friendly drawing and composition techniques - Follow a template for drawing a bat, clouds and stars! - Turn your drawings into professional seamless patterns - Build confidence and creativity with digital art - Explore what you can do with your patterns! - Refreshments (tea and light snacks) Each session is taught in person, with live demonstrations projected onto the wall so you can follow along step by step, in real time. There’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, get individual feedback and work at your own pace. The aim is to create a friendly, encouraging space where you can experiment, learn and enjoy being creative. What you'll need: Ideally, you’ll bring an iPad with Procreate installed and an Apple Pencil or compatible drawing pen.
